Summer has come and gone and what a busy one it was! Amongst our regular day-to-day operations, Hutson was heavily involved in the local communities surrounding all 29 of our locations spanning four states. From driving service trucks in parades, and sponsoring golf outings and festivals, to hosting our own events, we found many ways to support our local communities. By far, our biggest investment of the summer was our participation in the livestock auctions and county fairs. In total, we spent nearly $100,000 across 34 different livestock auctions.
In addition to purchasing still exhibit items and livestock we were also heavily involved in supporting these fairs through monetary donations and exhibiting equipment. Hutson is proud to say we were able to take advantage of a multitude of opportunities to give back to our communities. This is especially true when it comes to being able to directly show support for our customers and their families. County Fairs are a great opportunity to partake in the tradition, fellowship, and comradery of our local communities. This is something that we will dutifully participate in year after year.
One of the greatest products of supporting these fairs are the opportunities to personally meet with the 4-H members when they bring in buyer letters or visit with us after the auctions. All our local communities are filled with incredibly bright, hard-working, and enthusiastic individuals that will be successful leaders of our agricultural community in the near future. We especially appreciate that they take the time to personally meet with us in person to present their buyer letters, answer any questions we have, and sometimes bring a tasty treat or two! These letters are a favorite to pass around the store to see what fun names the animals are given, personal accomplishments the kids have had during their projects, and all the unique items they hand create.
We are honored to not only support the local youth in the surrounding communities but the children of our employees who participated as well. At every fair, we bid on or purchased various still exhibit items or livestock from these youth.
Hutson will continue to proudly support our local youth in livestock and 4-H programs for years to come. After all, they are the future of our industry, and we believe in investing in that future.
