Decks
With 48-in, 54-in and 60-in Accel Deep mower decks and 54-in and 60-in High-Capacity mower decks, there's a mower deck size for every yard. The E and M models come with the Accel Deep deck that people have come to love on John Deere residential mowers. Want to step it up? The R models come standard with the High-Capacity deck that provides greater airflow for an even better looking cut. Both decks have the option to add the MulchControl Kit.
2021 also brings a better cut height selector. The numbers and pin holes now face the operator for ease of selection and a magnetic pin so it will never jar out on rough terrain.
Seats
John Deere made a big upgrade to their seats this year. They've added the ComfortGlide system to the M and R series which was once reserved for commercial mowers only. What is ComfortGlide? The ComfortGlide seat suspension from John Deere is a system for zero-turn mowers that allows forward and backwards movement in the seat when driving over uneven terrain. It allows front to rear movement of 1-in to be absorbed, allowing the seat to move with you, not against you. The suspension reduces horizontal vibrations and jarring, making a huge improvement to comfort.

ROPS
New to the Z500 lineup is the roll over protection system. The foldable ROPS system has 4 points that are easy to adjust with a spring-loaded pull pin.
