While Santa prepares to stuff his bag for the holidays, employees at River Valley AgCredit are getting ready to “Stuff the Tractor.'' With the help of their friends from Hutson, Inc., River Valley AgCredit looks forward to making the holidays a little brighter for area families. For the fifth consecutive year, the two organizations have teamed up to put on the event, resulting in thousands of toys and monetary donations to benefit area children. According to Shea Weaks, Marketing Manager at River Valley AgCredit, the holiday drive is a staff favorite.
“River Valley AgCredit believes in giving back to the communities in which it serves,” said Weaks. “Helping children is heartwarming and good for the soul. Our staff is excited to see the tractors roll into our parking lots this time of year.”
Hutson, Inc. Marketing Manager, Denham Rogers, says providing the iconic green John Deere tractors is a tradition that Hutson hopes to continue.
“Hutson, Inc. embodies the tradition of the American spirit,” said Rogers. “It’s in that same spirit that we proudly partner with our friends to help families who work diligently year-round to provide for others.”
Weaks said many families in their service areas have been faced with challenges this year, from financial strain to natural disasters, often making the holiday season a challenging time. “The toy drive can alleviate some of that stress,” she said.
Last year, more than $100 and 500 toys were donated through Stuff the Tractor. That number has grown to over 800 toys across all River Valley AgCredit branches this year. “We appreciate the community support and look forward to hosting Stuff the Tractor again next November,” said Weaks. Toys are being distributed to children in the counties in which they were collected.
Hutson, Inc. would like to extend thanks to the River Valley AgCredit team for putting on this toy drive and allowing us to be a part of it.
