Job overview

Develops and implements strategic plans and processes to maximize used equipment sales, profit margins, and inventory turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes a marketing plan to trade, broker, and sell used equipment at the desired margins and turnover.
  • Maintains the dealership pricing guidelines for used equipment and used precision agriculture technologies.
  • Researches, compiles, and analyzes market information regarding Deere and competitor used equipment values and trends.
  • Set expectations for information requested in the appraisal process.
  • Develop and initiate training and marketing strategies to support salesman development in the appraisal process.
  • Manage the digital inspection forms within the dealer business system.
  • Develops and executes a sales process for the acquisition and selling of used equipment.
  • Oversee used inventory specifics, pricing, and other applicable information up to date in the business system.
  • Implement procedures for equipment presentation and quality that are up to dealerships standards.
  • Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.
  • Foster a great place to work environment, encouraging accountability, open communication, teamwork, and a commitment to serving the customer.
  • Participate in all business and/or department activities related to ensuring the customer experience is positive.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and the community so as to present a professional image of Hutson Inc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years equipment sales experience is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with current and future decision makers.
  • Extensive knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment as well as technology trends/advancements.
  • Business, financial and logistical management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of relevant agronomic practices and trends.
  • Knowledge of key customer account agronomic operations.

Additional requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License required.
